Tip of the Day- Portion Size!

Portion size is really really important. 20 Years ago, all portions were a lot smaller then they are today. A bagel back then was like 1/3 of the bagels we have today. A slice of pizza is twice the size now that it was then. A small drink at a fast food restaurant use to be what they considered a " regular" size.

Think of how all the girls look back in the 1940's and 1950's. They were so thin! Women back then were size 0 and size 2 and didn't even think about it. My grandmother has pictures of herself when she was in her 20's and she looked like a movie star! She was so thin and wore high wasted pants to show of her little waist. And when I ask her about what she did to keep thin, she said that they didn't watch tv back then and they were always out swimming and hiking. She also said that portions are a lot different now.

This is the difference between a bagel back then and a bagel now. A bagel now is 3 servings of bread!

This is how a standard bottle of pop was back then compared to now.

There are many more examples online of portion sizes then and now.

A little thinspo to introduce myself

I'm on day 5 of my restriction. I just took ABC and mark off days as I go though I mucked up the last 2 days and went over by 200c! OMFG. So I'm fasting the next 4 days. Friends, remarks, thinspo, msn/aim friends, email buddy ALL welcome. Talk to me ladies!!!

TIP OF THE DAY - Hemp Jewelry!

This may seem like a random tip, but I was trying to think of something that I am interested in and that is fun :)
I make hemp bracelets and other kinds of jewelry and it really keeps me busy and I don't think about food when I'm making them. There are many websites out there on how to make it, and I would try to explain it to you, but it's just easier to look at pictures from the websites :)I will post pictures of some of the jewelry I have made when I get home :)

I also plan to make bracelets with the eating disorder colors. I'm not sure what color EdNos is suppose to be but I have read that it is green so thats what Im going to do.

ALSO: It is SO cheap to make them, a ball of thin hemp is about $5 at walmart and they sell beads there too :)

NEWS: I got a stability ball and a bunch of 10 cal drink mixes today :) and A HUGE water bottle.
The stability ball is awesome! I used it once and I feel the burn in my abs area.

Another Swimsuit Picture!

This girl went to my high school and she was always a little pudgy, but then all of sudden she lost all kinds of weight and looks like this!?!?? BTW I can't stand her and I'm jealous that she looks better than me. I know that she's pretty muscular, but she's also really tiny.... Here's to being thin for summer!

I had the best workout at the gym tonight! I'm doing a face peel right now then shower and bed <3

Here is what I did at the gym:

40 mins on the bike
10 mins on the treadmill
25 reps of 10 LB weights
100 crunches with the medicine ball - SO proud of that because I usually only do 50 a night

It was a fairly short workout but still effective :)

I'm so excited about this community. Thanks Chloe for reaching out and inviting me =D

I'm Heather and I'm 20 years old. I'm anorexic.

I was in the hospital this weekend for mono, which sucks. I don't have any appetite, but I have to eat to take my medicine or it makes me sick =/ and I can't workout?!?! So I feel pretty horrible. That's what I'm up to! Let me know if you want to be a text buddy or something =D I live in the U.S. btw.

White Strips

I got crest white strips!
I have used them 3 times already and I see a BIG difference in my teeth...they are AMAZING!
A whiter smile will make me more confident I think!

Also...I have to leave them on for 30 mins..then brush after so I don't want to eat...and I do this twice a day, so bonus! :P

I just got back from the gym..it was a good workout and Im so tired!

I was looking at old pics of myself and I use to be soo thin! and the sad thing it, I didnt realize it back then. I am so determined to get back down to where Im suppose to be!

Here is the tip of the day for January 3, 2010 :)

Hair Removal :P

There are SO many ways to remove hair, that it's hard to find the right way..here are some things I have tried and how they worked out:

Legs: I shave my legs and the best razor that I have EVER used it the Venus Spa Breeze. It has moisturizing bars so you don't need shaving gel, and it REALLY works! I hate having to lather up my legs to shave, and this works soo good! It also smells amazing.

Under Arms- For my under arms I use the same thing that I use on my legs and it works so good!

Arms- Not everyone wants to get rid of arm hair, but personally I HATE my arm hair, so I first tried Nair Pretty wax strips, and it worked really well, but it hurt like a bitch and I had to use almost a full box to get results...I have also used Veet cream hair removal, and it also worked well, BUT I have found something painless, mess-less, and 100% effective..It's called Smooth Away. Smooth away is a kit that comes with little pads that basically buffs your hair off..it doesn't hurt AT ALL!...It has small pads for your face and large pads for the rest of your body, and its AWESOME!

Bikini area- I usually just use my Venus Spa Breeze razor for my bikini area but I have used other methods, like chemical hair remover, and I found that it was just messy and painful. I would like to build up the courage to get a Brazilian wax someday though.

Eye Brows- I am really sensitive to pain, so I don't like plucking my brows. Instead I usually use either wax strips or a personal trimmer for women. I like the personal trimmer better because it has a brow attachment and it's completely pain free and lasts for a while.

Beautiful, Healthy hair :)

1- Only wash your hair every other day if you can help it..The natural oils from your head will keep your hair healthy and shiny.
2- Brush from the bottom up to avoid breakage from tangles.
3- Get your hair trimmed about every 6 weeks to keep it from looking ratty.
4- If you live somewhere cold, make sure to keep your head warm and your hair protected when going outside or the cold can make it dry out.
5- Avoid using heat on your hair whenever you can. I personally don't straighten my hair on the weekends, I do all week for school, so on the weekends I go with my natural waves. If you do use heat on your hair, use a protective spray first.
6- Use a deep conditioner once a week in the winter, and a regular conditioner every day.
7- When in the shower, don't wash your hair with hot water, try cool or warm water instead. If you don't want to be cold in the shower, try washing your hair separately in the bath tub with cool water after your shower is done.

If you follow these steps, your hair should be highlight ready by summer :)...But remember, if you do color your hair, use products specifically meant for your hair type and color.

Oh how I miss you summer! :)

I ate Special K cereal this morning to jump start my metabolism... then doing my fitness video again, water fast for the rest of the day...



I am extremely sorry about the recent food porn being posted on this community...I did not realize it was happening until now or I would have deleted it sooner. The users who were posting it have been deleted from this community..I truly hope there wont be any more postings.

This is an eating disorder community
We do not want to have these disorders, and are not wannarexics
This community is called thin for summer, but it is not for people who only want to get thin for summer, it is for people who already have eating disorders and want to focus on something specific.
The tips of the day that i post every day are focused on health, skin care and beauty...they are not tips on how to get an eating disorder

Please everyone, keep posting positive things on this community...I'm not going to let a few trolls ruin something so good..

So I went out and bought a fitness dvd... its pretty awesome!! it has one 30 minute full body workout on there and then 3 or 4 10 minute mini workouts... which i thought would be great to do in between classes when i have an hour break or when im bored!!!

anyway it made me think about this group because it is the "get your body bikini ready" Shape magazine fitness dvd (i bought it at walmart for $10)

I did the 30-minute workout today! i loved it!! i want to go get more... i also bought two 4 lb weights for it!! ill let you all know how sore i am tomorrow. :)

Im Meg, im 20... my bf is leaving for the National Guard in February and I wont see him again till September.  I'm looking to be at my ultimate goal weight by then.

HW: 166.4 lbs
CW: 165 lbs
LW: 143 lbs
UGW: 125 lbs

p.s. any competitive people out there who would like to compete with me for reaching weight loss goals in a certain amount of time... friend me!! but it has to be realisitic... no like 20 lbs gone in 2 weeks... maybe like 5 lbs a week ill do.


Tip of the Day- Dec.30th


Home Exercise! Here are some tips for exercising at home.

1- have a designated, clean area with no obstacles to get in your way.

2- if you're planning on doing any exercises on the floor, use a yoga or exercise mat to avoid back injury and to keep yourself comfortable.

3- Have plenty of water on hand, it's important to keep hydrated :)

4- Work out music defiantly helps!! I will post a list of summery songs at the end of this post to keep you all motivated for summertime :P

5- It's easier to work out when there is no one else in the house..I always feel more self conscience knowing that people are around.

6- Wear proper workout clothes, like cotton shorts, tank tops and t-shirts, or if it's cold, wear sweat pants. Make sure the fabric is loose and can breathe so you will stay cool and comfortable.

7- Always shower or bath after a workout and use a mild face wash to wash off the sweat, excess oil left on the skin can cause breakouts.  

8- Make sure to cool down slowly after a work out.

Hello Ladies..here is the tip of the day for Monday, December 28th.

Skin Care!

1- ALWAYS wash your make-up off before bedtime! Leaving it on will clog your pores and cause breakouts, as well as age your skin.

2- It is very important to keep your skin moisturized during the winter so once summer rolls around, it will be soft and healthy, and ready for those self tanners, lol.

3- Please do not use tanning beds ladies! I tried it once and I will never do it again. It is so bad for your skin, and you can get the same effect from gradual at home tanners.

4- Use a sun screen of at least SPF 15 ALL YEAR ROUND! The sun might not feel hot in the winter because of the cold air, but the sun is still dangerous in the winter. Most wrinkles are caused by sun exposure!

5- Drink lots of water and avoid sugary drinks...Water keeps your skin healthy and hydrated :)

Hey ladies!! Another year is beginning again so I find my mind wondering to " how am I going to look this summer?"

I did not reach my goal last year for the summer, and now that I am 20 years old, I really want to start my 20's right.

This group is for those who have summertime dreams of tiny bikinis and fun in the sun without the extra rolls!

This is a community for those with eating disorders, not for people just wanting to lose weight..just to keep things civil.

With this group I will be posting a "tip of the day" EVERYDAY! Before you freak out, these tips are not going to be telling people how to have an eating disorder, because I think we all have that one covered..this year the tips will be about everything, from tanning, to keeping hydrated, to summertime workouts and what bathing suit looks right for your body type :D

Come on ladies...lets get fit for the summer!!
